About Avery
Hi, I’m Avery! I am a student at Mira Costa College, currently working to earn my Certificate of Achievement in Photography. So far, I’ve taken two semesters of digital photography classes and one semester of film photography. I have learned so much about photography and can’t wait to learn more!
I have experience with studio and portable lighting equipment for portraits and product shoots, and I have used professional inkjet printers to make prints of my work. I have also experimented with many different genres of photography, like landscape, nature, wildlife, street, sport, portrait, and product photography. While I have mostly been honing my technical skills so far, I am still discovering my style and experimenting with composition, depth of field, shutter speed, colors, and editing.
I was raised in Carlsbad, California, and have lived here my whole life. Growing up in a coastal town, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the ocean and all of its creatures, so I’m passionate about environmental conservation. When I’m not taking photos, I’m hiking, camping, surfing, bodysurfing, birdwatching, tide pooling, picking up trash on the beach, or sewing.
